Walton Pond
Fishing extremely well with match weights of skimmers exceeding 20 kilos.
Carp to 29lbs being caught regularly.
The Bridgwater and Taunton Canal
Now starting to fish well with large shoals of bream showing at Charlton.
Good nets of roach being caught from most areas.
Thurlbear lake
This venue is producing some nice carp to 15lbs good bags of roach and bream being caught best method is chopped worm and castor or double red maggots.
Maunsel Ponds
Carp to 25lbs being caught from both the Match and Carp lakes,
Spicy boilies fished close to the island in the Match Lake and in the deeper end of the Carp lake producing the best results.
The River Tone
Fast Stretch although low and clear Chub to 5lb are being caught from the deeper swims, trotted maggot still the best method.
Fishing should improve as soon as we have some rain and levels rise.
The West Sedgemoor Drain
Swims have been cleared of weed both at the Pumping Station and farm end.
TAAs ex treasurer Harold Trueman had a great net of fish including six bream between 5 and 6lb from the swim adjacent to the car park at the pump station end.
All fish were caught on maggot float fished over a bed of grounbait.
Wych Lodge Lake
Still fishing very well, Carp to 20lb being taken from most areas of the lake, best baits boilies sweetcorn and pellet.
Carp still being taken off the surface on warmer days.
Extra swims will be created at the end of October bring the total number of swims available to 15.
Please note that anyone wishing to purchase a ticket to fish Wych Lodge will need to provide proof of identity, For non TAA members this could be an E.A Rod Licence, driving licence or any other form of I.D. For TAA members your TAA permit will be sufficient.
