Wych Lodge Lake

Timescale

Our lottery bid was successful and work will commence on Monday 5th February 2007.

Work is estimated to take approx 4 weeks and the lake would reopen in spring 2008..

Future maintenance of the lake

Silt traps will be installed during the restoration, these will stop the inflow of silt, and future dredging will be unnecessary.

Bankside vegetation etc will be controlled on a voluntary basis by T.A.A members as it has been in the past. many thanks to Steve Edwards for all his hard work!

T.A.A has a positive attitude towards the removal of litter in the area and will continue to ensure the area is kept looking clean and tidy.

In the spring of 2008 we envisage the need to add and re-establish aquatic plants into the lake, lilies etc. And also to add to the fish stocks in the lake.

We will be creating a natural wildlife habitat behind the lake when we flood the valley.

The Benefits to the area

Good fishing in pleasant surroundings will encourage more angler's and their families into the area this will benefit local businesses, Bed and Breakfasts, public houses, etc.

It will also increase business for local tackle shops and associated businesses.
