(1)The subscription for the year 2011/2012 season will be as follows:-
Senior Season Permit £42.00 Senior Daily £6.00 Junior Season Permit £17.50 Senior Weekly Permit £20.00 Junior Weekly Permit £10.00 Junior daily permit £4.00 Senior Citizen/Disabled Permit £25.00 Under 12's Season Permit £5.50.
(2) In consideration of Regular attendance at Executive Committee meetings during the previous season, Executive Committee members shall be entitled to a free season permit except in the event of him missing three consecutive meetings he shall then forfeit the rights and priviledges accorded to him as an excutive committee member.
(3) Club waters on the River Tone and The West Sedgemoor Drain are closed for any type of fishing from March 15th to June 15th inclusive each year
(4) All fish must be returned alive to the water. Any fish deaths must be reported. No fish to bre taken away without the express permission of the owner, to do so may give rise to a civil or criminal prosecution under shedule 1, section 2 of the theft act. No deadbait to be used for pike fishing before september. the use of live bait is prohibited on all club waters.
(4a)When fishing for pike, all members shall be in possession of a large landing net; use a wire trace at all times and use a minimum of 12lb (maximum 18lb) breaking strain reel line. Members must use a fit-for-purpose unhooking tool, such as a large pair of forceps and use an unhooking mat. No pike to be retained in keepnets. under no circumstances must you use a gaff or boga grips as these are banned on all club waters
(4b) All members fishing for specimen fish, i.e carp and pike, shall be in possession of an unhooking mat, unless fishing in a approved match.
(5) Any member wilfully disturbing wild-life or game on the fishing grounds will be expelled at once.
(6) Members must take care when entering a field set up for mowing. Any Member reported wilfully damaging grass, hedges or banks is liable to be expelled from the club. DIGGING OF ANY BANK IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
(7) No vehicle may be parked on land adjoining club waters without prior permission from the landowner.
(8) All fishing must be by fair rod and line. When fishing Taa water’s a member can use 2 rods, providing only one swim is used at any one time; one swim being ten metres either side of the angler. Rods must be within 3 metres of each other (As per E.A rules).
Night fishing is strictly prohibited on all club waters with the following exceptions:-Maunsel ponds and Walton pond. Night fishing is allowed for the 2010/11 season at Maunsel ponds and Walton pond for any full senior season member of the club that applies in writing to the club chairman for an application form. Forms will also be available for download from the clubs website at www.taunton-angling.co.uk . These forms will need to be returned to the club chairman along with payment, a passport size photograph and TAA season permit number.
This will be at an additional cost of £60.00 per season. The club reserves the right to refuse any application.
Night fishing will only be allowed for a maximum of 48hrs in any one session. Any member found fishing overnight at any venue except for those with night permits for Maunsel and Walton Ponds will be treated as trespassers and expelled from the club and liable to prosecution. For all members who do not have night fishing permits, fishing is allowed from one hour before sunrise until one after sunset. Night fishing will not be allowed under any circumstances 24hrs prior to a club match or any other event organised by the club.
Any angler who contravenes this ruling will immediately forfeit their night fishing permit and no refund will be given.
(9) Any person intending to fish a swim MUST clear all litter in the immediate area BEFORE FISHING. Any person found fishing in a spot containing litter, shall be deemed to be responsible for same and will be liable to forfeit his/her membership of the association, pending a hearing by the Executive Committee. No drink-cans, sweet-corn or luncheon-meat tins (or similar) to be discarded, under any circumstances.
(10) Club Membership Permits can only be issued to bona-fide holders of E.A rod licences.
(11) Subsidised Club Permits costing £25.00 each are available to Senior Citizens and to persons registered as disabled, providing they are bona-fide anglers.
(12) All Executive Committee Members are official Club Baliffs.
(13) 28 Days notice, in writing to the Club Secretary, Must be given prior to the Annual General Meeting, to effect any amendment to the bye-laws.
(14) All matches will be at the discretion of the Executive Committee, Sweepstake matches being allowed at the sole discretion of the Match Secretary.
(15) No angler is allowed to throw unused bait or groundbait into his swim, at the end of his/her fishing session.
(16) No menber may carry an offensive weapon onto the fishing grounds nor may he use any article in a threatening manner. No member shall behave in an aggressive manner towards any person who is legitimately on the fishing grounds.
(17) Members are responsible for the behaviour of any non member accompanying them on the fishing grounds.
(18) The minimum size of keepnet for fishing in club waters shall be 2 metres long by 1.2 metres in circumference. Mesh must be knotless with internal circumference of 25mm or less. Keepnets must be made of fish friendly mesh (see wych lodge rules)
(19) All members shall be in possession of a landing net prior to fishing.
(20) Only safe dyed coloured maggots will be used. Maggots coloured with Chrysodine, Auromine or Rhodamine will not be permitted, under any circumstances.
(21) Unless prior consent has been granted by the Executive Committee, no member shall fish club waters, or be in the company of others fishing club waters, whilst carrying or in possesion of tanks, aerators or similar means with which to transport fish. For the avoidance of doubt, in possession of for the purpose of this rule is defined to include equipment stored in vehicles which have been used to travel to the water, or parked adjacent to it.
(22) The loss of a membership ticket is the responsibility of the member. No replacement will be issued by anyone, other than the Treasurer - such issue to be solely at his discretion.
(23) Subject to match rules, no carp to be retained in keepnets or carp sacks.
(24)Anglers must use barbless,whisker or micro-barb hooks on stillwaters controlled by the club.
These waters are Walton Pond, Wych lodge lake, Thurlbear Pond and Maunsel Ponds.
Under no circumstances are you allowed to use fully barbed hooks on these waters. The Association reserve the right to check your tackle at any time. Any angler using fully barbed hooks will be asked to leave the venue and a written warning will be issued. If caught on a subsequent occasion, the angler will be banned from the club for a period of one year. You are however allowed to use barbed hooks on all other club waters.
(25) Members must not use a line strengh of more than 18lbs breaking strain monofilament or 8lbs braided mainline when fishing club waters.
